03/09/08 Breakfast

Edward was slightly sleepy as he arrived in the Great Hall. It evaporated as soon as he sipped his coffee. Aah.

Heather walked into the Great Hall, messing with her hair as it seemed too flat this morning. She pulled down on her tie knot and walked over to the Slytherin table, flashing a few crocked smiles at a couple of boys.
She reached the table, and sat herself down, moving her hair off of her shoulders, twisting it into a loose ponytail. "I'm so hungry its not real" she announced, pulling a plate over, adding two slices of bacon, and egg, two sausages, fried bread, mushrooms and a tomato.
A smiled lite her face "Good thing I don't put on weight," she said, picking up the knife and fork. "I guess I'm just a lucky one" her voice slightly higher and her eyes on a rather large Slytherin girl. The girl glared back, leaving Heather to chuckle. She shook her head and began to eat her breakfast, sipping at her coffee and chatting amongst others.

"Hey Heather!" She said cheerfully as she sat down besides her.She grabbed a piece of toast and buttered it.

Emma walked to the Gryffindor table a book clutched in her hand. She sat down wondering were Alex was.

Heather looked up, and swallowed what she was eating. "Laurie! Seems like a long time since I last saw you," she smiled. "How have you been? You haven't seen my brother around, by any chance?" she took a sip from her coffee, watching Laurie butter her toast.

*Alex came downstairs into the Great Hall. He saw Emma at the Gryffindor table, and a few others also in the room. Walks up to the Gryffindor table and says thoughtfully, "Good-morning, Emma," as he smiles. He sits beside her, and looks at the food. It was a busy day, yesterday, though it wasn't without hardships. Many of his classmates didn't make it, however, his close friends did survive.

She yawned sleepily. "Nope sorry..why did you ask?"

Emma smiled at him. She looked down at the food... he couldnt eat... A girl in her class had died. She had been great friends with her... almost best friends. Tears filled Emmas eyes as she thought of it. She quickly wiped them away befre Alex could see.

Heather cut a piece of bacon and dipped it into the egg "Just wondered. Probably asleep still, and will walk in late," she rolled her eyes and eat the beacon. "Unless," she turned to Laurie after swallowing the becon. "There's some sort of early morning Quidditch practice on that I don't happen to know about ... There's so many reasons for him in general... He's on his own that guy."
Heather took another sip from her coffee, and then grabbed her fried bread carefully to eat it. Her eyes looked up at Emma and Alex, "Seen them two? I'm trying to eat for Merlins sake ... Boo hoo, life's a bitch, get over it"

*Alex could tell that she was sad. He placed his arm around Emma, and hugged her, side-by-side. It was a sad set of circumstances. He lost some classmates that were always willing to help.

"Always," said Alex with a weak smile. He looked at the food before him, though he wasn't really that hungry.

Laurie chocked on her tea. "Eww I feel like I need to barf..Gryffie PDA. Ew"

Edward noticed a girl crying at the Ravenclaw table. His jaw tightened and a frustrated look crossed his face. All those people dead and there was nothing we could do. He had showered repetitively, trying to wash the smell of charred flesh off him.

*Alex didn't know what to say, though he knew what she felt. It was the same thing he felt. He asked her, "would you like to go someplace, Em?"

Sergei sauntered into the Great Hall with a smirk on his face. He made eye contact, and nodded to some people he knew. He took a seat at the end of the Slytherin table, and began to eat.

"No... its fine... theres no where to go... Actually... can we just sit on the entrance hall steps? I need some fresh air..." She said stiffling another sob. Her heart ached...

Sergei heard sobbing from behind him. He looked over, and saw two Gryffindorks being emo. He laughed. "Get over it!" He said loudly, then turned back to his food, chuckling.

"I thought you people were brave. Stop wimpering Gryffies." She said glaring.

"SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!" Emma yelled across the hall at him. The tears began to flow. They didnt understand.. all the courage she never had came up.

Heather was taking a gulp of her coffee when Sergei shouted to the Gryffies, almost making her spit the liquid out from wanting to laugh. She held back the laugh and swallowed the coffee, and turned to him. "Funny enough, I said that earlier" she laughed, putting her coffee down, after she moved her empty plate.
Heather also chuckled to what Laurie said, and then her head turned when Emma spoke. "Holy crap, she speaks back!" Heather smirked, moving her head a little to look at Laurie with an evil look. "Bad idea, wasn't it" she whispered to her.

"You should have been a Hufflepuff." She retorted nastily.She turned to Heather. "Hell ya we'll find something for her."

"They are so rude," said Alex shaking his head. After she yelled at the Slytherins, her tears began to flow. Turning around for a moment, "why are you so insensitive?," he rhetorically asked to the Slytherins. He then hugged Emma.

'"Theyre jerks... Im sorry I keep losing myself on you like this.... look Im going to the lake... I need time alone to think." Emma got up and ran out of the hall wiping tears from her eyes. She went down and sat at the lake bringing her knees to her chest as she cried into them. Emma lifted her head up and threw a stone into the water agresivley. She picked up another one and was about to throw it.

Laurie got up quickly pulling Heather along with her. 'I'll explain on the way." She said simplely.
