Walking through the woods (September 13, 2008)

Alexander walked along the edge of the forest, curious to what kind of animals and plants resided within the area of this boundary. He crouched beside a tree and looked up into a tree to see a bird chirping.

Earlier today, Elli had made her way out to the forest with a good book. Her schedule was clear today..and she planned on using it to get some relief from stress. She sat high in a tree, legs outstretched on the branch, a thick black book open on her lap..the tree she sat in...
happened to be the one that Alex crouched beside.

Elli looked down at the sound of crunching leaves and saw him there. She smiled and closed the book. Securing the book in a hollow in a tree, she made her way down the branches and leaped to the ground.
"Hey Alex!"
she said in a happy voice

Alex heard some rustling in the tree above him. Looking up he saw Elli coming down. Once she came to the ground he said, "hey Elli. How are you doing?," he asked kindly.

Elli watched as a leaf fell from the tree she was in. It floated down and landed on Alex's head.
Elli plucked it off and put it in his shirt pocket
"Not much..just enjoying a free day..does good for a stressed person such as myself."

"I can imagine," said Alex looking up in the sky and watching a bird fly in the air. "It is very pleasant out here. Do you like to do anything in particular out here when you enjoy the Earth's natural beauty?," he asked in a friendly fashion.

"read..." she said as she pointed up to the branch she had been sitting on earlier...a corner of her book could be seen in the hole in the tree
"and day dream...skys the limit with you thoughts"

"Especially when outside," said Alex with a chuckle. "Tree-climbing is fun, and I enjoy reading too. Thinking is what I mostly do when I'm outside. I lay on the ground and think about anything that is in my head at the moment."

"Exactly! So many random thoughts...and then its even better when you can organize them and write them down.."
She looked up and then smiled..without a warning she fell backwards onto he grass, her eyes glued to the sky
"Sky is so clear today..if you look hard enough you can see the stars glistening in the blue."

Alex lays on the grass beside her and looks up at the sky. "Whoa...you're right. I hadn't noticed it before." He could pick out Sagittarius, or most of the stars of the constellation.

"Yeah..."
she turned her head
"So what are you doing out here?"
Elli sat up onto her elbows and waited for his answer

"On sunny days, I like to look at the plants and animals along the Forest edge...often I watch them do what they do as I contemplate things...like the flying of a bird, or a blossoming of a flower or what not. It might be kind of nerdy/dorky, though I like to find solace in the little things," said Alex sitting up on his elbow looking towards Elli.

"Haha its not dorky or nerdy! You sound like a true ravenclaw to me..I dont know what those girls were talking about!"
she smiled then rolled backward so that she ended up kneeling instead of laying down.
"It sounds really...peaceful"

"Maybe so," said Alex with a shrug. "I'm very glad that our friends and family were safe on the train. That was quite an occurrence there," he said before having a thought of Emma laying on the grass before the end of term last year. He couldn't help but smile as he day-dreamed.

Elli's heart faltered a few beats then began to pound nervously
"Yeah..that was pretty terrible"
calm down! he might get suspicious!! she thought to herself as she tried to slow down her heart

Alex came back to reality, and he thought Elli looked a little panicked. "Elli...are you alright?," he asked curiously, worried that something could be bothering her.

"Yeah..my heart just decided to stop on me..scared me a bit..but were good"
she smiled patting her chest
too close ell, too close

"Alrighty," said Alex with a confused look, and then said, "yea...its always important to keep one's heart beating," he added a chuckle along. "When I was traveling with my Parents, I caught a line from this song. It sounded so intriguing, though it was on Muggle-radio. 'All you need is Love.'" He then thought of Emma, and came back to reality. "I'm sorry if I drift off every so often."

Ellis smile widened when he gave the quote.
"I know the song!! Its from a muggle musical called Moulin Rouge! Oh I love it!! Its so serious..yet silly!"

"Moulin Rouge? Red-windmill? I'm sure that's an interesting musical, if it is built around Love," said Alex with a chuckle. "France is an interesting country...many intriguing places," he spoke aloud.

"Oh yes...but it gets tiring after awhile..Now New York..that is a place I need to visit still..in America...It sounds like a lovely place to go...what do you think?"

"Never been to New York, though been many other places, for example, Los Angeles has this stretch of sidewalk where stars are on the ground. They are for Muggle performers, though a few Witches/Wizards have made it in, like Elizabeth Montgomery. She 'played' a witch on television," said Alex with a chuckle.

Elli laughed
"Thats right!! Ive been there too...muggles are so fasinating in what they do to honor others....sometimes it gets to a point of annoyance though..."

"Very true. Sometimes it fits the purpose, though occasionally it can be too far. Luckily, we don't have to see it too often," said Alex with a chuckle. "In some ways, Muggles can be fascinating...especially how they accomplish tasks without magic."
