Yule Ball -- 25 December 2008

Dragan, with Austin on her arm, entered the decorated Great Hall. There was fake snow falling, but it wasn't hitting th eground, there were the normal twelve or so Christmas trees decked in different decorations each. There were already people there by the time that she had gotten ready, but that didnt' matter. Her and Austin were looking marvelous and so were most every other couple -- except for some that Dragan completely despised which she'd never compliment even if her life depended on it. She started to look around for their friends and said to Austin, "This is so great, isn't it?!"

"It's great," Austin replied, though he really wasn't paying that much attention. He was starting to regret asking Dragan... he'd be tied down all night long, though he knew he'd get something at the end of the night so he couldn't argue asking her ocmpletely... but he still wanted to have fun with more than just Dragan. But oh well, Dragan would have to do... she always did...

Ashley was all dolled up to go to the ball. She had tried to force Riley to come since he stayed at Hogwarts anyways, but he claimed he didn't dance. Ash was slightly downtrodden, but knew that her mood would brighten as soon as she entered the great hall -- and she was right. The decorations were marvelous and all the pretty dresses and everything! This was amazing! She moved out of the way of other students entering the Great Hall since the ball just started. She decided to continue watching the doors just in case Riley changed his mind.

Edward was wearing his smart, black dress robes. He had no date and had come with a group of fellow Ravenclaws. Edward had been hoping that Elli or perhaps Daryl would be there but he hadn't been able to find either of them. I'll see them soon enough, he thought. Edward stood out from the crowd despite his simple garb. His pale skin seemed to glow against the black and his bronze hair, which was in its usual tousled state, shone in the dim light of the great hall. He brushed snow off his shoulders and laughed as the boy next to him leaned over and muttered something amusing.

Elli walked into the great hall, wearing a marvelous deep blue dress. She had tol herself she wasnt going to come to the dance...but her cousin, Aiden, had forced her..

And speaking of Aiden, he was right behind her
"Come On cousin...it'll be fun...and you look really good. Go enjoy yourself for once! I prom,ise no pranks today"
Aiden gave a smile, patter Elle's shoulder, then disappeared into the hall.

Elle let out a soft sigh and looked around, wondering if she'd see anyone she knew.

One person stood out in particular...Edward..with his pale skin.
Elle actually smiled as she made her way over to him
"Hey edward! Thought you wernt gonna come"

Edward's face lit up as he saw Elli.

"Elli," he grinned, giving her a hug. "Could say the same for you. You look great by the way."

"You too!"
she went to ruffle his hair, but caught herself...guessing he might have jell of something in his hair.

He laughed as she made to ruffle his hair and paused. "Not going to ruffle my hair?" he asked.

"Well i wouldnt want to ruin it...you look too nice tonight"
she smiled and poked his forehead instead..another habit that she had almost broke because she replaced it with the ruffling of the hair.

Edward smiled and desperately hoped he wasn't blushing. "Ow, I always preferred the ruffling," he said.

Bella's older brother had pratically dragged her to this event. That made her annoyed since Frodo was just about to drop the ring into Mount Doom. She scowled glaring at his back darkly. She wasn't even dressed properly for a ball.

She wrapped her hoodie over her head and stared at the ground not wanting to be noticed. This wasn't a very good idea seeing how she often ran into things. Like the great hall doors ten seconds ago. Of course Pete her brother roared with laughter. He always seemed to find things like that absolutely hysterical. Well she didn't.

"So...what do you usually do at a ball?"
she asked...it was, after all, the first actual 'dance' she had attended

Her chestnut brown hair fell front of her eyes hiding her vision. Not that she cared. She really hoped though she didnt run into someone. That would draw attention. That was when she ran right into something.

Since she was small and tiny she toppled over to the floor. "I'm sorry."She squeaked blushing madly. Ugh she always blushed when she was nervous or embarassed it was dreadful.

Someone ran into the back of Elle, pushing her forward. Elle, being one who never wore heels or long dresses, let alone them both together, tripped over her other foot and got caught in her dress. She fell forward into Edward. She blushed furiously and quickly regained her balance.

Elle untangled her foot from her dress then bent down to help the person who had run into her up.
"Hey you ok?"
she asked, smiling nicely

Her chocolate brown eyes widdened in horror. Shit. Pretty girl and cute guy. Now'd they laugh. Bella blushed furious as she looked at them from her veil of brown locks. She nodded meekily to embarassed, startled and nervous to speak. Her eyes flitted to his messy bronze hair.

He was cute. And she hardly knew his name. Get a grip Bella. She thought stoutly. He'd never like a girl like you. And you dont even know his name. Wait Edward wasnt it?

She took the girl's hand standing up slowly her knees knocking. "Um I'm fine."She said softly looking a the floor pushing some hair out of the way but just enough to not look to rude.

Riley changed his mind about the ball. He got dressed up the best he could... he was surprised he even had the type of attire used to the ball. Though, he actually thought that Ashley got it for him to try to persuade him to go to the ball. ANyways, Riley was trying to get over the feeling of dread that he always felt on Christmas and so he was going to surprise Ashley by coming to the ball. He entered the Hall and barely noticed the decorations as he looked around. There were loads of people -- something he never liked. He hated being surrounded by people because there was always a good chance that he'd get touched and he utterly hated that.

He took a deep breath to calm himself and continued moving forward to resist the temptaion of turning around and leaving...

Ashley looked toward the doors when one of her girlfriends told her to. Her jaw dropped as she saw Riley walking through the crowd. "Go see your man, Ash," her friend told her. Ashley looked at her friend. "He's not my man," she replied, though she nearly ran up to Riley nonetheless. "Riley!" she said,hugging him and then letting go quickly. "Oh... I'ms orry. This must be really hard for you... we could go..." she looked around for a slightly less crowded spot. "Over there? There's not as many people there... And I thought you weren't coming! Oh, my God, I am so happy right now! Why didn't you tell me you were comign? We could've come together so you wouldn't look as awkward..."

Michael dressed up in a very handsome dress-robe that he had used for occasions where he wants to look his best. Once ready, with having taken a shower and combing his hair nicely, he made his way down to the Great Hall. He heard some music already going on...and entered the Great Hall. Michael looked around, and saw many familiar faces, though couldn't find Katy, yet. He hoped she would show up, especially since he hadn't found Ashley before the Ball to ask her. Scanning the room, he saw Ashley and Riley walking over to the side of the room which was less crowded. He gave a weak smile to himself, as he remembered that Riley didn't like to be touched or in very crowded areas. Michael couldn't help but noticing that Ashley was very nicely dressed. He was mesmerizing as she walked towards her destination. It was then that he realized that he wasn't over her, since he felt the pang of nervousness in his stomach...as though Ashley might still care for him, even just a little bit. So as to not look as awkward as he felt, he walked over to the drink/snack area and ate a few cookies while people-watching.

"Dance?" he suggested, holding out his hand to her and motioning towards the dance floor. Edward didn't see Isabella bump into Elle and was surprised when Elle tumbled forward, right into him. He felt his face grow hot as he stabilised her. It was then that he noticed the other girl.

"Whoa, what happened there?"

Elle gave another friendly smile
"Its ok, really...your....Isabella, right?"
she had seem the girl around before..she liked to bump into things..though elle guessed it was her hair's fault.

"Don't worry," reassured Edward. He hadn't seen the girl before but she seemed pretty stressed out about bumping into Elli.

She nodded at the girl. "Yeah." Bella wasnt too sure she prefered being laughed at or getting spoken to nicely. She smiled weakily at them.

"Hi, I'm Edward. How did you fall?" asked Edward curiously.
